Peter H. Starr
President and Chief Executive Officer

Peter Starr is President and CEO of Chatham Partners.  Peter’s primary focus in leading Chatham is to offer clients cutting edge research initiatives executed by team members with deep industry knowledge.  It is this unique marriage of research prowess and contextual knowledge that has created a truly unique offering for our clients.  Throughout his twenty years in the financial services industry, Peter has earned a reputation as a dynamic, results-oriented financial services advisor and consultant as well as an international thought leader on retail and institutional financial services. 

Prior to merging his firm into Chatham Partners, Peter was the principal and founder of PH Starr Assoc., a consulting and market research firm whose focus was assisting financial service firms with strategy development and brand building. Major clients of PH Starr Assoc. included Fidelity Investments, Old Mutual Insurance Company, John Hancock Financial Services, TD Waterhouse, FleetBoston Financial and Bank of America.

Prior to founding PH Starr Assoc., Peter was a Managing Director and Director of Consulting at Cerulli Associates, Inc.  During his tenure at Cerulli, Peter headed both the retail and institutional client consulting divisions as well as the institutional research initiatives.  He was directly involved in product development, market research and competitive analysis across a range of products and market areas, bringing practical and actionable advice to major financial institutions. Additionally, Peter was known for the production of the highly recognized Cerulli Institutional Reports, the industry’s preeminent source for institutional market data.  

He is a frequent industry speaker on trends in institutional and retail markets both in the U.S. and abroad.  He is quoted frequently in such news outlets as The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Pension and Investments, Fortune Magazine and Institutional Investor. He has appeared on NBC Nightly News, CNBC and CNN discussing financial service trends.  He earned a B.S. at Northeastern University.

Joshua Dietch
Managing Director

Joshua Dietch joined Chatham Partners in 2005 and is a Managing Director. In this capacity, Joshua manages research and consulting engagements that focus on client retention and new business development processes. Prior to joining Chatham, Joshua was Director, Product Marketing and Management with ADP Retirement Services managing product development and marketing for ADP's defined contribution and executive deferred compensation products.  Earlier in his career, Joshua was a Consultant with Cerulli Associates, helping financial service firms with both business strategy and new product development. Prior to Cerulli Associates, Joshua worked for a subsidiary of the Principal Financial Group. Joshua received his B.A. in History from Bates College.

Laura Artz
Vice President, Research

Laura Artz joined Chatham Partners in 2004 and is the Vice President of Research. In this capacity, Laura oversees the design and execution of Chatham’s customized market research studies and strategy consulting engagements. Additionally, Laura is responsible for company-wide strategic process improvements and management of the research team. Prior to joining Chatham Partners, Laura was a Senior Consultant at Accenture, a global consulting firm that provides strategy and organization management, technical consulting, and information systems implementation services. At Accenture Laura led change management initiatives for customer relationship management systems implementations in various markets including: Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, and Government. Her varied experiences include: project management, client management, organizational design and development, employee development, market research, communications and marketing, and training design and development. Laura received her B.A. with Honors in Psychology from Dartmouth College.

Luis Fleites
Vice President, Director of Multi-Client Research

Luis Fleites directs multi-client research studies on topics of interest to institutional investment and retirement services managers. Prior to joining Chatham Partners, Fleites was Vice President and Director of Retirement Markets at Financial Research Corporation, where he worked with financial services firms to develop and implement retirement services, products, and marketing strategies. He also spent several years at both Cerulli Associates and State Street Bank. Luis has co-authored more than a dozen comprehensive industry studies, focusing on topics such as defined contribution investment only (DCIO) distribution, retirement income approaches, and the IRA rollover market, including “Maintaining an Edge in the IODC Market: Evaluating the Asset Manager Opportunity,” and “IODC Growth Opportunities: Capitalizing Changes in a Dynamic Market.” Luis earned an MBA from Boston University’s School of Management and a B.A. in International Relations from the College of William and Mary.
